All The Gentleness Of A Raging Wildfire

***

This is where I am keeping track of where to find me online!

With the writing on the wall that tumblr will go down, and myself being unsure about where I will end up should it truly die, I am making this site so I can easily share where I am active online still.

I am at Furry Paws as Pardus #1520538

I am at Tumblr as border-collie as my primary social media

I am at Pillowfort as bordercollie should tumblr go dark

I am ALSO on Discord for chat, but would perfer that you reach out to me on one of the above sites to get my tag :)

For information related to my border collie program, please see Hi-Fi Border Collies or find me there on Instagram

a dog is a labor of love. it is born of generations of love, and knows well the meaning of love. it is taught with love, its eyes and face and tail wag bred to be the image of love. a dog is the culmination of the love of a person, of people, of many people years and years on.

but a dog is something alien when running down a forest path. the birds it chases and foxes it snaps after and deer it hunts see it not as part of their world. its eyes and face and tail wag are not love, they are distortion. they are frenzy and unnatural hunger not for the sake of survival but of privileged play. the dog will bite the hand that feeds it. the dog will destroy what it is given. the dog loves, but it loves with all the gentleness of a raging wildfire.

see how the man is in the dog. see how the human behind the dog’s eyes sees not the torch with which he razes the land around him, but only the love he has distorted beyond reconcile. his love is internal and it is bountiful indeed, but it chases at every bird it sees, every flitting immediate gratification, and ruins his fellow man and the land around him. the dog is a hell paved with good intention. the dog is a companion who has lost his way, an alienation of the soul from earth, from what made him.

and the hunters, when they come roiling over the hill with rifle in hand on those darkest of days, loose so, so many dogs.
